Default About linking our GW and GW2 HoM

Has there been any new info on this, mainly in the how it will be done area? I am wondering if we are going to need to link our GW2 account to our GW ncsoft master account, of which I am not sure if I have one, and if I do, don't know the info for.

You will need your NCsoft master account to link guildwars 1 with guildwars 2.

This is actually wrong.

There is no information yet on how we will link our GW1 account to our GW2 account.

And please use the search function. This question is asked several times every day. I'm sure one of the other million threads on this would answer your question.

A bit contradictory to say both of these at once.

The most significant info here was given by Regina over a year ago here, and could have certainly changed since then. See the HoM FAQ:

A: When Guild Wars 2 is released, there will be a way to link...
Further lack of clarity on this method could be a sign that the previously proposed system has changed slightly.

You can read more about the HoM system in GW2 on its wiki page.

1. As Shayne has said you are contradicting yourself in your own post.

2. Ill take any bet that you will have to link the games over the NCSoft masteraccount seeing as thats how the company policy has been since the 4the year storage "pain" giveaway (apart form the fact that you need to link the GW1 account to a NCSMA to get 50/50).

3. I personally cant remember many threads asking this particular question on GW1Guru. Maybe the mods are removing these "several threads a day" before others can read them .

@OP. It has not oficcially been stated how the HOMs will be linked, but as I wrote in point 2 it is highly probable that you will need to do it over the NCSMA. If you cant remember your Login and Password, just open a ticket and ask them for the details. Give them as much information as you can to make their verification /Search easier.

Don't understand how it was contradictory as it was false information, thus wrong. There is no such thing as right false information. Then my second line was directed at the OP, saying that we don't have any information yet.

The thing about using the NCSMA, is some of us have multiple accounts on our one NCSMA. My NCSMA has three different accounts on it. One is my Father's, one is my Mother's, and one is mine. If we can only link one GW1 account to one GW2 account, how would we go about using our separate accounts that are all on one NCSMA? Would only one of us be able to link the NCSMA, leaving the rest of us with nothing? Or will all three of us be able to use that one NCSMA? That is my concern over the NCSMA.

Well, you said "This is wrong." and then you say "There is no info" so how do you know what is right and what is wrong? That's the contradiction...

If you don't have your NCsoft master account info, I'd advise you send an email to [email protected] and explain the situation where you forgot your information. I had the same problem a couple of months ago, and they were very helpful and the situation was resolved in a matter of 2 days. Just give them all the info you can: approximate date when the account was created, keycard codes, your name, email, date of birth, address... And if you have enough proof that you are the owned of the GW account, they will give you the info. At least, they did so with me.

The tricky part, if not done over your master account, will be how to verify the original account holder agrees.

If it is done purely by a GW2 in-game item, i could theoretically link my GW2 account to your GW1 account.

Unless they implement a way to have a confirmation from the gw1 account before finalising it

Well I had been thinking/hoping that this item that links the halls would simply be something that makes it so you have to log into your GW account to confirm it.

my mule accounts are not linked to any master account...and they show up on the HoM online counter thingy as linked--you do NOT need to have a master account to get the linked account--so

I do not have a master account for my mule accounts--it does show up as accounts linked on the website, so no need for a link to get 50/50
at this time we still do not know how it will work other than what shayne said.

Just because you can view your HoM progression does not mean you'll be able to link your account to anything else when GW2 is released.

that is also correct---as I stated we have very little information about HOW its going to work, they have yet to say if its going to require a master account or not---so at this time having the 'accounts linked' on the hom website is all we know about how they are going to do it. (which is saying we dont know very much yet).
